Subcontracting

In mid-2021, we are releasing the Subcontracting feature. Features include:

  • Automating bids/RFP/RFQ to subcontractors

  • Multiple bid request modes (request price, suggest price and dictate price)

  • Selecting winning bids, integrating changes with your estimate

  • Subcontractor portal, to easily submit initial price, scope/price changes

  • Subcontractors can see their specific scope of work from their portal, including production notes, floorplans/drawings/documents, quantities, dimensions, estimated work hours, suggested crew composition, timing/scheduling

  • Subcontractor insurance and workers compensation document tracking

  • Progress tracking from subcontractor portal (checkbox to mark item as in-progress, complete etc)

  • General contractor item approval (once the sub has marked an item as complete, you can approve their completion report)

  • Before and after pictures per item or per subcontractor

  • Automated subcontractor pay outs (US/Can to start)

Until then what can I do?

There are a few options to simulate a work-order now.

  1. You can export the budget and remove price/markup fields, but that will be missing production notes, attributes, pictures and descriptions.

  2. You can download a scope-of-work document. This will show the scope of work for all items (not just items particular to a specific contractor.

    1. Open the project you wish to generate a scope of work document for

    2. Go to the Files tab

    3. On the right panel (or near the top if you are on a small/mobile device), choose the Subcontractor quote and click the Download button

    4. In the window the pops up, you can choose to edit Document settings to tune what you include. The Subcontractor quote comes pre-loaded with the most common settings, showing dimensions, quantities, production notes. Not showing price or cost.

    5. Note: if you turn on Show production notes then every item will appear in the quote, regardless if its parent assembly has been de-emphasized as to appear like an item to the customer.

    6. Click to download or print. Print has a better quality but may take longer. Quick download is faster but has a lower quality.
