Adding Items to Your Proposal

Once you have selected a client to generate a proposal for, you are ready to start adding items to it.

  1. From inside the Estimating Engine, select “Add Item to This Quote” to open up your library.

  2. This will open the library. Once inside, you can select one or more items or assemblies. You can also select “New Item” or “New Assembly.” How to create items and assemblies.

    1. NOTE: The right side of the screen shows a breakdown of library categories. You can select “Your item library” to only display items that are saved in your account, you can select “CostCertified free item library” to display items from our global library, or you can select “All” to show items from both libraries.

    2. You can also search for a specific item or assembly using the search bar in the top left corner. Note that if you have a specific library or category selected, it will only search inside that section.

  3. Once you have selected everything that you wish to add, click the large “Add selected” button in the top right corner.

 

Creating new items/assemblies: If you need to add an item that is not already in your library, you can create a new item or assembly from scratch.

  1. Click the button for “New assembly” button and then click “Add 1 selected.” This will load a blank assembly into your proposal.

  2. Once inside your proposal, you can click the button to add an item to the assembly.

  3. Follow the same steps to add a new item. This will prompt you to enter the name for your new item and fill out the details.
