Viewing Previous Versions of the Proposal

CostCertified allows you to see a history of any changes made to a proposal. When changes are made after the initial proposal is sent, the system automatically creates a change order for the new version. The contractor can go back to previous versions of the proposal at anytime without losing the current version.

  1. Open a proposal and go to the “Changes” tab on the left side of the screen.

  2. This will show a list of each version of the proposal.

    1. It will also indicate if that version was seen by the client or approved.

  3. To look at a previous version, click the three dots to the right of that version and click “checkout this stage.”

  4. Once you have loaded a previous version, go back to the “Estimate” tab.

    1. NOTE: The system will notify you that you are on a previous version of the proposal. You will have the option to go back to the changes tab, go to the latest version, or “save this as the new latest version.”

    2. While you are looking at a previous version of the proposal your client will still see the most recent version if they open their link.

      1. If you click “save this as the new latest version” or “Force save” from the blue save button, then the version you are looking at will become the current version of the proposal, which is what the client will see when they click on their link.

  5. If you make any changes to this version and “Force save,” then the system will automatically save the changes as a new change order. You will still be able to go back to the previous version from the changes tab.

  6. NOTE: The client will not be able to view previous versions of their proposal. Any time they open their proposal link from their email or CostCertified account, they will be taken to the current version of the proposal.

    1. If a client requests to see a previous version of the proposal to compare the changes, you will need to open that version, download the PDF of the proposal, and email it to them.
