Calculate weight of material items

Now you can calculate the weight of materials items.

1. Open an item from a quote or from the items list

2. Make sure the item is:

   1. not subcontracted, and

   2. includes materials

3. Open materials options (under the ‘Materials included’ option toggle)

4. Set the weight unit (kg, or lbs etc)

5. Set the weight per unit

   1. Note: It calculates weight based on purchase quantity, so if you have purchase unit as anything other than the main quantity unit of measure, you are actually entering the weight per box or whatever the purchase unit is and NOT ft2, m2, m, ft or whatever the quantity unit is.

6. Now you can see a summary of the weight at the bottom of each quote under the Totals heading

Notes:

• If you have a mix of weight units that’s alright; for example some items are in Kilograms and some are in Pounds, then it will choose the first one found and the quote will convert all weights to that unit and display that.
